The global paradigm has shifted: no longer do the developed economies of the west have a monopoly over creating and nurturing global brands and global organisations. The last 25 odd years has seen mega brands and corporations emerging from Korea, Taiwan, China, Malaysia, Brazil, and more recently from India and the Middle East. Not only are the emerging economies proving to be engines of growth for the world, they are demonstrating that they can build brands and organisations that can compete outside their home markets.

What does it take to build, grow and sustain a global organisation which competes with the giant multi-national corporations of the developed world? And what are some of the critical success factors that have become apparent from their journey? The global crisis is certainly continuing to be a challenge for organisations across the world; but is it also presenting opportunities for those from emerging markets?

The Alumni of the Indian Institutes of Management based in the UAE, are organizing their “3rd Pan IIM Alumni Gulf Summit” under the patronage of HH Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, UAE Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, on March 17, 2012 in Dubai.

The theme Global Organisations from Emerging Markets, provides an opportunity to hear from leaders of some successful organisations from India and the Middle East, and from a few others who are involved and interested in their journey.

The summit provides a platform to explore and debate ideas around opportunities and challenges faced by business leaders and managers in emerging economies, in taking their organisation global. This thought-provoking and networking summit will bring together corporate leaders from India and the Middle East and spotlight case studies from both markets.

The talks will be followed by a Gala Dinner, providing an opportunity for delegates to network and meet with the speakers. Over dinner there will be an interesting speaker talking about the Dabbawalas of Mumbai.

Apart from IIM Alumni from across the region, the 300+ participants will include invitees from prominent local businesses, corporate organizations, and entrepreneurs.
